Ayr United v City Preview
- By
John Hoey
BRECHIN CITY will be looking to extend the gap over Ayr United to eight points if they can come away with a victory tomorrow.
City have already taken full points from Ayr in the opening league fixture at Somerset Park when goals from Gerry McGlauchlan and Craig Molloy secured victory.
There's no doubt that the Honest Men, left reeling after their surprise 4-0 home defeat against East Fife in midweek will be determined to bounce back but City will be in confident mood after their superb 1-0 victory against Livingston on Tuesday night.
City will be without the services of full-back Dougie Hill who missed the Livi game because of suspension. Hill has been recalled by Raith Rovers so it looks as if Andrew Cook will again fill in at left-back.
Manager Jim Weir has no injury worries ahead of tomorrow's game and apart from Hill and Charlie King who remains sidelined, he will have a full squad from which to choose his team.
Ayr boss Brian Reid is not in such a fortunate position.
Midfielder Alan Trouten is available again following suspension but Willie Easton drops out as he begins his ban.
Ryan McCann and Andy Rodgers will start if they prove their fitness, while Dean Keenan and Bobby Donnelly remain sidelined for the Honest Men.
