Brechin welcome another new face to Glebe Park, with Craig McEwan signing a two-year deal. The 27 year old right back was with Dumbarton last season and obviously impressed the Glebe Park management team when the sides met.
There was perhaps no surprise in the news that Roddy Black and Chris Jackson are leaving the club. Both failed to make much of an impact this season and have been told they can go by Ian Campbell.
Jackson was a key part of the team that got promoted to Division 1 in 2002/03. He was also one of the few players to be given pass marks in the 2002 Bell's Challenge Cup Final. He made a few starts early in 2004/05, but rapidly dropped down the pecking order with the likes of Stuart Callaghan and Steven Ferguson coming in.
Roddy Black has been a fine servant to the club, and a very good player on his day. There will be a few City fans who think he was probably good enough to do a job for the club in Division 1, but clearly that is not a view shared by the management team.
