Squad Update - By Steven Mew

Brechin City FC can confirm that defender Euan Spark will not be returning for pre-season training and is free to sign for another club.

Euan signed for City after leaving Dunfermline Athletic in the summer of 2017 and made 63 appearances for the club during his 2 seasons at Glebe Park.

Having been brought up in the nearby village of Inchbare, 'Sparky' wore his heart on his sleeve for his hometown club and we wish him all the very best for the future.

As has been reported elsewhere over the last couple of weeks, offers were made to Craig Thomson, Callum Tapping, Sean Burns and Scott Robertson but all four have opted to move on to pastures new and sign for clubs in League One. Brechin City FC would like to wish all players well at their respective new clubs and thank them for their efforts in a City shirt.

The club announced yesterday that goalkeeper Patrick O'Neil has signed a new contract, whilst Ryan McCord and Luke Watt join from Arbroath and NK Novigrad respectively. Manager Barry Smith and Assistant Stevie Campbell are working hard behind the scenes and are in talks with a number of players as the re-building of the squad continues.
