Brechin City Football Club received another boost last Saturday - this time off the pitch.
The second Brechin City FC Sportswomen's Dinner was held in the Northern Hotel, raising over £5,000 for club funds.
The evening was organised by Donna Allison and Linda Ruxton who, once again, attracted two top after-dinner speakers.
After a welcome from club chairman David Birse, John McRuvie, breakfast time presenter with NorthSound 2, got the evening's entertainment underway.
He was followed by Janey Godley, hailed as "the most outspoken female stand-up in Britain, and the most ribald and refreshing comedy talent to have risen from the slums of Glasgow since Billy Connolly."
The two certainly gave the ladies something to think about, and laugh at, sometimes at the expense of the Brechin chairman!
The evening also included a successful raffle and auction.
Speaking after the event, Mr Birse stated: "The evening was a great success. Two ladies organised the whole thing - Donna Allison and Linda Ruxton - and they did an absolutely tremendous job.
"They had two fantastic speakers and the money raised is a huge boost to the club.
"Everybody knows it's difficult running a football club and a boost like this is tremendous.
"Everyone at Brechin City Football Club can't thank them enough for their support."
Mr Birse also thanked all the sponsors, those who donated prizes for the raffle and the auction, as well as the ladies who supported the event.
He continued: "The money raised will enable the manager to help strengthen the pool; obviously he can't do that until January.
"Donna and Linda put a lot of work into organising the evening and they deserve all the credit."
Brechin City manager Michael O'Neill added: "The sportswomen's dinner was a very enjoyable night. I haven't had many nights out in Brechin before so it was a good start for me!"
