O'Neill Signs Dyer On Loan

City manager Michael O'Neill has signed St Johnstone left back Willie Dyer on a months loan ahead of today's match against Airdrie United. Willie will go straight into the starting 11 against Airdrie at New Broomfield.
The signing comes as City look to tighten up in defence and Dyer is expected to step straight into the side at left- back, releasing Stuart Callaghan to his favoured midfield position.
St Johnstone manager Owen Coyle holds Dyer in high regard, but the consistent form of Goran Stanic has restricted the impact he has made, although he has featured regularly on the subs bench and has stepped into defence effortlessly on the couple of occasions that Stanic was out.
“We have drawn five games in a row and we have scored goals in all,” said City boss Michael O’Neill.
“Last week at Berwick we had another three goals but it was not enough to win. It is not just our defence, it is perhaps how we are defending as a whole.
“Callaghan has done well for us but he is a not a natural left-back and the arrival of Dyer will free him to play in midfield where he is more of an influence.”
