The draw for the first round of the Challenge Cup was made yesterday afternoon and City were drawn at home to 3rd division champions East Fife. The sides faced each other twice in the Scottish Cup last season, with City emerging victorious after a hard fought replay.
East Fife have a number of former City players on their books, including former favourites Kevin Fotheringham and Chris Templeman.
Also, the outcome of yesterday's meeting saw Gretna demoted to the 3rd division, meaning play-off finalists Airdrie and Stranraer will play in the 1st and 2nd division respectively next season.
The draw is as follows:-

Alloa Athletic -v- Dundee
Arbroath -v- Forfar Athletic
