New St Johnstone keeper Alan Main is to help out former Dundee United team mate Michael O'Neill by coaching at Brechin this coming season.

Main (39) is returning to Saints for a second spell after his Gretna departure but will divide his time in Perth by assisting O'Neill at Glebe Park.

O'Neill, who played with Main at Tannadice from 1990-93, said: "Alan will work with us this year in between his duties with St Johnstone. We train two nights a week and he'll be with us for one of them during the campaign to help our keepers Craig Nelson and Chris McCluskey."
